Red Dragon FM champions Cardiff

Red Dragon FM has teamed up with Cardiff & Co to champion all that is great about the capital city. And if the results of their first joint venture are anything to go by, then the future bodes well.

The market leading local radio station, in partnership with Cardiff & Co ran a spring promotional campaign offering listeners money-off vouchers to use at some of the city’s best restaurants, bars, shops and attractions. Visitors to Cardiff & Co’s shopping web site, www.shopincardiff.com, increased by 30% during the campaign which ran for 4 weeks from 8 March – providing a welcome boost for the city’s retailers during the post Christmas period. 

Commenting on behalf of Red Dragon FM, Sally Oldham, Managing Director said, “Red Dragon’s leading position makes it an effective way to communicate to potential visitors to the city. Radio advertising is proven to boost online browsing when used as part of a mixed media campaign and these results clearly show just how effective this can be.”

She added, “Our decision to become a Cardiff Champion makes absolute sense. The city’s success is our success- a strong local economy and a thriving region is good news for everyone.”
